Active Autowerke - Active Autowerke G80/G82 M3/M4 Gen 2 Signature Equal Length mid-pipe (US Patent 11248511, UK and EU patent 3882441)
After extensive research and development, ACTIVE AUTOWERKE has announced GEN 2 of our EL midpipes. We worked with our factories to create specially developed RESONATORS that remove rasp from the exhaust tones with minimal change in the volume of the sound. A side benefit is that this also resulted in a reduction in the "2k buzzing" annoying to some BMW owners as well as a reduction in the cold start rattle from the factory. GEN 2 will replace the existing EL midpipe, so Active Autowerke has developed an upgrade program for EL existing owners who want to take advantage of this improvement. THIS PROGRAM IS VALID FOR ORIGINAL PURCHASERS OF EL MIDPIPES ONLY - proof of purchase required. Contact Active Autowerke for details on this program.
We are recommending to owners of cars with after-market downpipes to use the resonated version but we have only tested with stock and Active downpipes and stock and Active rear exhausts.
With stock downpipes, there is some small rasp so you may also want to opt for the resonated version.

Active Autowerke is proud to release our patented Signature Equal Length Mid-Pipe for the BMW G80 M3 and G82 M4. This brings our expertise with developing the first equal length mid-pipe from the F8X M cars to the G8X M cars and is an alternative to our Single Mid-pipe for the G8X. It provides the advantages of an equal length exhaust system with a smoother high rev sound. BMW provided an equal length solution with the crossover pipe from the short downpipe. However, they overcompensated and made the length of the drivers side exhaust longer than the passenger side - this equal length midpipe corrects the passenger side exhaust length giving the G80/G82 a true equal length and smoother sound. Our equal length technology has been recognized as unique with our US Patent 11248511 and our EU and UK patent 3882441.
While these cars have received rave reviews for their performance, the sound is a muffled one leaving the driver to wonder if they are really driving a BMW M-car. In order to solve this, Active Autowerke has created a full exhaust system for the G80/G82 which comprises a choice of three mid-pipes (this one, the single or our x-pipe), a rear axle-back valved exhaust and a set of GESI catted downpipes. Together, this remake of the stock exhaust results in a G80/G82 with an amazing sound. You will feel like you are driving a true M-car again.
This exhaust system upgrade was designed and engineered to work with most after-market exhaust systems/mufflers on the market today with only two cuts needed in the stock mid-pipe. It is a bolt-on that can be performed by most and the stock mid-pipe can also be reinstated if needed.
This system provides the maximum flow available and restores the sports car growl expected from a BMW M-Series car.
The Active Autowerke equal length mid-pipe system is constructed of 100% 304 brushed stainless steel and has a industry standard warranty against rust.
This latest addition to the Signature line up is a must for the true Enthusiast looking for an alternative to the stock S58 sound of the G8X platform to match the amazing performance.
