Integrated Engineering - IE Race Series FDS Intercooler System For Audi B9/B9.5 SQ5 - IETPCZ1
This product ships in two boxes, and a complete kit requires the purchase of two part numbers from the iE Wholesale Website. A complete IETPCZ1 Intercooler Kit requires a purchase order of both part numbers: IETPCZ1-Box 1 and IETPCZ1-Box 2. This box includes the iE Race FDS Intercooler and silicone high-flow hoses.
DESIGN DETAILS
The iE Race Series Intercooler sets the standard as the largest in its class. Unlike existing options designed to fit both 2.0T and 3.0T engines, our intercooler is exclusively tailored for the high-powered 3.0T SQ5 platform. Utilizing every millimeter of available space, our engineers have optimized the cooling capabilities for any power goal. The result is a massive size measuring 19.4x16.3x4.5", establishing a new benchmark in cooling power for the B9 3.0L turbocharged engine.
LEADING FEATURES
Requires IE Charge Pipe Kit (IETPCK6) for installation
GOODBYE HEATSOAK
Heat soak occurs when the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) generated by the turbo exceeds the cooling capacity of the intercooler and passes hot air to the engine. The result is a noticeable loss of power during acceleration and long pulls. The iE Race Intercooler dramatically increases the core size and useable area of the core with FDS technology to significantly reduced intake air temperatures consistently lower than OEM and competitor intercoolers while increasing flow.
STAY COOL WITH FDS
What is the point of such a large intercooler if it can't take advantage of the massive isurface area? iE's Innovative Flow Distribution System (FDS) places precisely shaped fins inside the end tank to force airflow evenly across the entire core. This technology distributes heat more effectively, recovers faster, and drastically reduces intake air temperatures (IAT) for the most significant power gains possible. iE FDS technology is the proven cheat code.
NO BOOST LEAKS
Go full throttle without worry, this intercooler is designed for big boost. The end tank inlets/outlets and aluminum charge pipes are CNC machined with flat-stop edge and beveled grooves for a high-friction surface that grips your hoses and locks them in place for good.
STRONG & SECURE
iE's Race Intercooler integrates a thick-gauge steel crash beam and reinforced casting mounts for a long life and worry-free operation. All mounting bosses and surfaces have been precision CNC machined and hand-verified for an exact fit.
QUALITY MANUFACTURING
Every intercooler is meticulously hand TIG welded by iE's intercooler specialists to ensure outstanding quality and finish detail. Every unit undergoes a strict post-welding multi-point critical inspection and is tested in a leak-down station. This manufacturing level ensures a reliable product ready to install and perform out of the box.
FLOW GAIN
To prove the positive effects the intercooler design and FDS system have on airflow and pressure drop, flow testing was performed on the IE Race Intercooler VS. our standard IE FDS Intercooler option. Test results show consistent gains of up to 81.6% more flow over our alternate intercooler offering. This increase details the Race Intercooler's efficiency and capability to provide optimal cooling without negatively impacting airflow demands on any build level.
INTAKE TEMPS
Intake Air Temperature (IAT) was recorded over consecutive runs on a Stage 3 Hybrid Turbo S4 at over 650WHP. Three wide-open throttle pulls were made back-to-back on the iE Race FDS Intercooler VS. the standard iE FDS Intercooler (IETPCK1). The result was up to 11.4% lower IAT over existing performance intercooler designs.
REQUIRES CHARGE PIPES
To seamlessly connect to the intercooler's larger 70mm sized inlet and outlet, our iE Aluminum Charge Pipe Kit (IETPCK6) is required. This combination increases flow and enhances the entire charge air system with high-velocity airflow for unparalleled performance.
iE Charge Pipe Kit is sold separately.
PERFECT FIT
Quality is found in the details. Despite its impressive size, our race series intercooler has been designed for a hassle-free installation without any permanent modifications. To ensure a precise fit, iE engineers have employed advanced 3D scanning equipment and rapid prototyping techniques to ensure a tight, yet perfect bolt-in replacement.
INSTALLATION
Install your new intercooler kit (and charge pipes) without any permanent modifications or installation hassles. The install process is involved, yet straightforward with basic tools.

We update our catalog daily to provide the most accurate fitment information possible. When shopping for parts, please use the “select your vehicle” car selector on the home page. Once you've selected your car, you can filter parts specific to it.
Additionally, on each product page, we have a tab for fitment information. By clicking on "Fitment", you can scroll and verify the part you are about to add to your cart indeed fits.
Furthermore, if you have a vehicle added to our vehicle selector and you are viewing a product page, you'll see fitment information below the "add to cart" button. If an item fits your car it will display "This Part Fits Your: Selected Vehicule". If an item does not fit your vehicle a message will display "This Part Does Not Fit".
A “Core Charge” is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda. In many states, to promote recycling, you are charged a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and you receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have Core Charges that work the same way as a soda can deposit. The most common car parts that include a core charge are alternators, calipers, steering racks, and fuel injectors.
"MAP" pricing, or Minimum Advertised Pricing, means that the vendor set a minimum retail price that we're not allowed to violate. MAP items cannot be discounted because the decrease in price would violate that threshold.
